Tom Whalen on Robert Walser's Little Snow Landscape
Robert Walser's Little Snow Landscape, a collection of shorter prose pieces translated by Tom Whalen, "brings a modest but essential fraction of [Walser's] work to light in English" (Brian Dillon, 4Columns), including brief autobiographical sketches of Walser's homeland, satirical fictions about the last Turkish sultan, and one very sad story about a sausage.
Tom Whalen will be discussing his translation and Walser's writing with NYRB Classics editorial director Edwin Frank on Thursday, March 11, at 7:30pm EST. This program is part of an ongoing series with NYRB and Community Bookstore and will take place on Zoom.
