Together with Stadtgrün Bern (Bern City Parks) and the management of Schosshalden Cemetery, the Robert Walser Centre maintains the grave of Josef Viktor Widmann (1842–1911). It is located beneath an imposing sequoia tree and cannot be missed. Widmann is buried alongside his wife Sophie (1836–1911), born Ernst (family graves, section F1, no. 113). In 2025, the gravestone was cleaned and restored by Ewald Trachsel, the greenery was renewed and a stele designed by Urs Hungerbühler was erected.

The Robert Walser Centre maintains the grave thanks to an initiative by Lukas Leuenberger and the generous financial support of Cornelia and Daniel Stettler.
