We congratulate Muri Darida and Jonas Sollberger

The bilingual Robert Walser Prize 2026 has been awarded to Muri Darida for his novel “King Cobra” and to Jonas Sollberger for “Viens Élie”. The prize is endowed with 20,000 Swiss francs for each winner. We offer our warmest congratulations! The award ceremony will take place on 29 October 2026 at 6 pm at the Filmpodium in Biel.

The two authors, one from Bavaria and the other from Bern, join an illustrious line-up of prize-winners: from Marianne Fritz to Matthias Zschokke and Gianna Molinari in the German-speaking world, and from Malika Wagner to Marius Daniel Popescu and Elisa Shua Dusapin in the French-speaking world.

The Robert Walser Prize has been awarded by the Robert Walser Foundation in Biel/Bienne since 1978. The Robert Walser Centre is a partner of the prize.
